Orthotics — Why they don’t heal Plantar Fasciitis

Your plantar should never have any upward pressure. Pressing up on your plantar is only going to strain the injury more and make it worse. In fact, many people develop plantar fasciitis as a result of using orthotics to try to correct some other issue. The concept of an ‘arch support’ is a complete scam. Your arch should never have upwards pressure from below your foot. Custom insoles that ‘give you arch support’ are definitely only going to make things worse. Orthotics are always a bad idea for the plantar. If you are using them, it may be the cause or the reason it isn’t going away. Orthotics and insoles sold for plantar fasciitis are some of the largest scams out there. Don’t get fooled.

Orthotics are devices inserted into shoes to support the foot. They are often used to treat plantar fasciitis, a condition that causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. However, there is some debate about whether or not orthotics are actually effective in treating plantar fasciitis.

Some studies have shown that orthotics can help to reduce pain and improve function in people with plantar fasciitis. However, other studies have found that orthotics are no more effective than other treatments, such as physical therapy and stretching.

It is important to note that orthotics are not a cure for plantar fasciitis. They can help to manage the pain and improve function, but they will not heal the underlying condition.

If you are considering using orthotics to treat plantar fasciitis, it is important to talk to your doctor or a podiatrist. They can help you to determine if orthotics are right for you and can recommend the best type of orthotic to use.
